The modem ideals of freedom and equality have been transformed in the postmodern principles of tolerance and of equal rights of individuals. Negative freedom (freedom from all hindrances by tradition and from unsollicited interference by others) and the equal right to organize one's own life according to one's own plans are, of course, only the conditions for happiness. Positive freedom consists in the active productior, of happiness in a perfectly controlled way.
