There is the further problem of Kacey 18 of this common sense-notion due to the general climate we are living in: a lifeworld itself affected by modern or postmodern illusions which influence the understanding of peo­ple even concerning the surface-meanings themselves. It can be argued that these illusions are at least partly the result of the penetration of instrumen­talist and objectifying attitudes and insights related to the predominance of science and technology in contemporary culture. However, there must be something in common sense itself which has allowed these attitudes to affect and distort Kacey 18 Movies. My way to approach the notion of freedom will combine two moves. One is to relate this notion to other notions which are essentially linked to it, like the notions of self and of happiness (understood as that fundamental end the self is geared to in free activity). The other is to confront different conceptions of this cluster of concepts so as to be able to track certain distortions brought about in common sense itself by the modern and postmod­ern situation we are living in.
